Accessibility
Built to be used by everyone.
Our commitment
Caregiver is built for families who are often tired, often interrupted, and often using whatever device is in reach. Accessibility isn't an afterthought; it's a usability requirement.
Our target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across the entire site. We audit before every significant release.
What we do
- Semantic HTML — proper headings, landmarks, lists, and form labels so screen readers can navigate fluently.
- Keyboard accessible — every interactive element reachable and operable without a mouse. Visible focus rings.
- Sufficient contrast — body text meets 4.5:1; large display type meets 3:1, verified by automated and manual audit.
- Readable type — minimum 16px body, generous line-height, sufficient measure (45–75 characters per line).
- Motion sensitivity — we honor
prefers-reduced-motionand disable non-essential animation when it's set. - Alt text — every meaningful image has alt text; decorative illustrations are marked as such.
- Mobile touch targets — 44×44px minimum on interactive elements.
Known limitations
We are pre-launch and actively improving. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, we want to know — see Contact below.
Testing
Each release is audited with axe-core (automated) and VoiceOver + NVDA (manual) before publish. Lighthouse accessibility score target: 100.
